Busy As A Bee - Bzzzz....

GOD!!

I don't actually think I've been this busy in my life..
Well, maybe once or twice. Ha.

The past few weeks have went by in a flurry of make up brushes, shoots & some fantastic opportunities.
I've got so much work in the pipeline before Christmas that it's actually quite frightening.
Bring it on I say as it's always better to be busy than twiddling your thumbs.

Last Saturday was a new experience for me as I found myself working on the Music Video Clockwork.
Was a totally new to me as I'm used to shoots but I had a great time.
The team altogether were fantastic & working along side Directors, Producers, Camera Crew etc really gave me an eye opener as to what actually goes on Behind The Scenes.
A lot of hard work & retakes were done to get the video up to the standard that it's needed to be & I can't wait to see the end product.
I'll be sure to post up on here for you all to have a swatch at too.

I'm looking forward to the next couple of weeks as my diary is filled with new great opportunities for shoots, advertisements & fashion shows. To think that this is my job is insane but it shows me that hard work really does pay off.

I'm back to juggling my Para-Planning Business, My make up jobs, Being the social nerd that I am, my 5 Dance Classes a week & generally just being myself.

(Not to mention getting organised for my 2 weeks in Spain for New Year but that's another story)

It's going to be a toughie but I'm sure that with determination & a can of Red Bull close by at all times then I'll manage.

Until next time big blog world,

Look into the future..

Looking into the future, what do you see?

This was the theme for yesterdays shoot.
FUTURISTIC!!

As my alarm rang in my ear at the frightening time of 5am I was up & on the go. Double & triple checking I had everything I needed in my kit I headed off to Larkhall to pick up one of the lovely models that I would be working with that day Miss Charlene Key - I've worked with Charlene previously and she's a lovely girl who I believe will go very far in this industry. I also picked up the hysterical and also amazing hair stylist Lisa Brown. With all 3 of us in the car we headed off for Edinburgh, keeping it mind it was still pitch black from the dreadful Winter mornings we managed to natter along and also have a small jam to my woman THEE ULTIMATE NICKI MINAJ!! The journey only took us 45 mins so as we were an hour early for shooting we decided it was time for breakfast & a recharge of Red Bull.

It was 8:45am and we pulled up to location to be met by the Photographer for the day Siobhan Stewart.
As we all bundled into the studio we got cracking, waiting on our second model Louise Marshall & also our stylist Siobhan began setting up while I got to work on lovely Charlene's face..

We were working on 3 seperate looks for each model & also 3 different hair styles each also.

Here are some behind the scene's photo's to have a look at before the final images are ready..

It was an AWESOME shoot with an AWESOME team who I very much look forward to working with again soon. I can't wait to see the final images.

We wrapped it up at 1:20 & after a team clean up it was time to head back home..
The Red Bull had worn off & we were stuck in a traffic jam, home was on the horizon & with a few of Lisa's truly hysterical childhood stories we were back in Glasgow before we knew it.
A productive day was finished and it was now time to sleep.

Until next time.

LAGGING BEHIND!!

URGH!! Not impressed with myself at all considering I had my blog well under way & it was getting updated as a blog should be & then BAM - I was struck down with being a busy bee & this little sucker got neglected. I do apologise - Mostly to myself!!

Like I said I've been busy busy, working away on a new line of work which has totally thrown me well out of my world of lipsticks & mascara. It's a new challenege & I've officially been in my CEO role for a month exactly & it's going pretty well. I still have LOADS to learn but this my little friends will come with time.

Halloween has obviously just passed & my oh my didn't I enjoy it. Halloween is my FAVOURITE time of year. Personally I believe it beats Christmas but shh..Don't tell anyone else that. I was MAJOR busy on the night of the 29th when everyone was going out. Body painting, face painting, making the world into all sorts of different things for their night ahead. Tired & dying for a bath I clambered home at 9:30pm - Popped a Pro Plus - Had a vodka & was ready to get my Skeleton on. This is what I went as for Halloween. Can you guess where I pulled my inspiration from? See below.

Before I finish off on this massive rant I would just like to say that I am very much looking forward to shooting with Miss Charlene Key again on Friday in Edinburgh for a Futuristic Theme. It's going to be AWESOME!!

Now I shall be off.
Until next time,

Who Needs Airbrushing?..

As I've added a few new products to my kit this month I've found ONE that really stands out to me..

I've always been a BIG fan of Smashbox Cosmetics, mostly of their colour range as their palettes of eyeshadows are amazing & have excellent pigment which can suit someone looking for a natural look or someone going for something just a little bit more daring.
I was intrigued to hear about their new foundation that was launching called Studio Skin 15 HR Wear.

As I used to work in a cosmetic hall, luckily enough right next to the lovely Smashbox I got to hear of them launching first. The hype that surrounded these new foundations was amazing & they literally flew out the door so I knew I had to pick myself up 2 just to see what it was all about. They come in 12 gorgeous shades that will suit any skin tone. I picked up 1.2 & 2.3 to add to my kit & I can only say that I've not been disappointed.

The foundation glides onto your face like silk & not only stays put for the full night it also covers blemishes like you'd never believe. I've used them on photo shoots & also on myself for a cheeky night out & I genuinely cannot say a bad word about them. They're oil free & have a buildable medium to full coverage which keeps your skin looking fresh all day.

Studio Skin is by far flying the flag for the best foundation of the year.

RRP £29.50

Picture Perfect.

It's been a mental week but I finally have the time to update my blog - In this short week my cosmetic department store job has came to an end after 2 years & I'm moving on to become Mrs Self Employed. Yes, that's right, I have my own business. I couldn't be more stoked & I'm already a mixture of emotions but it's something I've always wanted to have & who knew that so soon I'd actually be called Boss Lady myself. It's a journey that I'm extremely happy about & it also gives me the flexibility to continue my freelance work like never before.

Speaking of freelance, here are the final prints from last weeks shoot with model Charlene Key.
Photographer - Tom Cairns
Make Up Artist - Myself
Hair stylist - Lisa Brown
Extensions - Robyn Guthrie

Fantastic shoot.

New Face..

As I let you all know, I was shooting with up & coming model Charlene Key today & fantastic photographer Tom Cairns - The shoot went great, of course this helped as Tom made us all feel at ease in his company as well as his home (He can make a mean sandwich) The shoot consisted of 4 main looks which varied from Beauty, to Editorial which Charlene took in her stride & embraced each one with a fearless attitude. I believe she is certainly one to keep an eye on. I managed to go all sneaky paparazzi on her when she wasn't looking & shooting outside, here are a few of what went on behind the scenes..

I'm stoked to see the finished product & I'll be sure to upload them for you all to see as soon as I get my first look.

Until next time big blog world,

Pretty & Punk.

I've always been into photography, whether it be taking pictures outdoors, indoors, of friends, of myself, of still life..It's always been there. My Dad has always been big on photography also, I remember when I was younger going walks in Winter and taking amazing pictures of the nature that was outside that I still have to this day. With these thoughts in mind & a few trials of my own & my trusty Cannon in tow I decided to do a shoot where I was behind the camera as well as painting the faces of the pretty models...I decided to opt for two of my closest friends, Danielle McGuire & Claire Kelly to take on the role of being high class models for the day. They done exceptionally well & I really appreciated how much they got into it.

The theme we decided to go for in the end was Pretty & Punk - A look where Claire took on the role of being pretty & Danielle went for the more edgier look of the punk world. With change of clothes & also a change in make up we headed down to some old football cages where the shoot carried on with Claire taking on a much more masculine role & Danielle opting for a high class evening gown. They were a power couple in the making.

I just want to say a big thanks to both of my girls for putting in WAY more effort than I ever expected & I know that they'll be on speed dial for anything else in the pipeline. Here are a few shots of what went down..

Many thanks again girls - You's were fab
